About the hunting ground
Nature and hunting traditions in the Danube Plain
Located in the Danube Plain near the city of Pleven, the hunting ground combines natural game habitats, long hunting traditions and the possibility of individually organised hunting trips. Every day here brings its own challenge, from the quiet of the morning forest to the thrill of meeting the game.
The Dryan hunting ground lies in the lands of Bukovlak village, Pleven municipality, and is part of the Miziya game management area.

From the early history of the Pleven Hunting and Fishing Society, the locality is mentioned among the areas for organised hunting trips and predator control.

Dryan was included among the society’s permanent game breeding grounds, evidence of the long bond between the locality, hunting traditions and care for the game.

A pheasant farm
A pheasant farm with a design capacity of 50,000 birds was built in the locality, an interesting chapter in the history of organised game breeding in the Pleven region.
The stated capacity is historical and does not reflect the current number of pheasants in the hunting ground. -

A late antique fortress
Remains of a late antique fortress, linked to the historical development of the area, have been recorded in the locality near Bukovlak village. It adds to the natural wealth of Dryan and reveals another side of its past.
